That's a Wrap

The last day of "taking care of the grands" I have to admit I limped through.....literally. I did pretty well until the very end with my weak chemo leg. I am improving slowly but surely. We were all a little tired by Friday. I had rescheduled a book store date with grand #1 from Thurs to Friday because of my leg. On Friday, she drove us and even dropped me off at the door!

In the evening we got take out, played video games and read until the parents came home. A slow paced last day seemed to be what we all needed. After welcoming home the travelers I drove my 2.9 miles home to my condo. How great is that? I have waited many years to be able to do that.

On Saturday I got to do one of my favorite things with 2 of my favorite people. I went thrifting with Ken and Renee (brother/sister in law). We hit a huge church sale near my condo. There were piles and piles of clothes as you can see in the photo below among other things!

We found a few treasures, then hit an exclusive garage sale in East Grand Rapids (they had a winter jacket for $400 for example) and ended our outing going out for breakfast. Can't wait to live in town so this can become a more frequent occurrence.

Even though the week was all about the grands I did manage to make some progress on my condo. In a previous post I wrote about the 52" vanity being left on my front sidewalk...in the rain. Will and I managed to limp it into the house but I still needed to get it upstairs for my carpenter who works by himself. My two sons were not going to be in GR at the same time. We talked about my son getting a buddy to help and his buddy turned out to be an adorable daughter of his (grand #1) who is very strong I might add. All that competitive cheer takes muscles it turns out!

That's a Wrap on taking care of grands (or them taking care of me) and bathroom vanity adventures!

Returned home to a homecooked meal ala Don: Pork Loin, sweet potato and tomato/mozzarella/basil salad and all my favorite TV shows on DVR! A little piece of Heaven.
